Maryland. Chittagong’s Kotwali Police Station OC Mohammad Mohsin said the 32-year-old had “admitted” during police questioning that he had been cheating in this way.
Imran’s other name is Gias Uddin, his home is in Lichu Bagan Dobhashi Para of Rangunia Upazila. He told the police that he worked in a garment factory in Chittagong city.
OC Mohsin told bdnews24.com, “Imran used to target rickshaw shooters. Detectives used to rent rickshaws at night. He would not only go back to different places to pay the rent, but he would also take the money earned by the rickshaw driver. throughout the day and would carry his cell phone to the store. ”
A rickshaw shooter caught Imran Tuesday night with the help of locals in the Nandankanan area. He was later handed over to the police.
OC Mohsin said Imran rented a rickshaw named Rafiqul Islam on December 10. The DB police officer said he would ride a rickshaw to do his duty.
After walking for about four hours, Imran went to the head of the three pools and asked for Rafiqul’s phone number saying that his mobile balance was depleted. Later, while talking on his cell phone, he got into trouble.
The OC said: “Rafiqul saw Imran on Tuesday night and caught him with the help of pedestrians. When the pedestrians started beating, the police went and took Imran to the police station. ”
Rafiqul has filed a case against Imran at the Kotwali Police Station, Police Officer Mohsin said.
He said: “Imran used to rent a rickshaw on behalf of the police because the rickshaw driver would be scared. He will not protest after the robbery. And if the rickshaw driver complains, the police won’t believe him. From this idea, Imran has chosen this deception strategy. ”
