Earlier Monday night, Haji Mohammad from the Changaon people of Kandirpar, the upazila union. The cubs were rescued from Cherajul Islam’s home. When the three rescued cubs were promoted by the locals as leopard cubs via social media, there was a huge commotion.

Laksam police and local sources said: Haji Mohammad, from the Changaon village of Kandirpar, upazila union, at noon Monday. Masum Khan, son of Cherajul Islam, went to cut rice on his own land and captured the cubs with the help of the locals. He left two of his cubs with him and gave the rest to his friend Arif from a nearby town. Upon receiving the news, Laksam police recovered three cubs and took them to the police station around 9:30 p.m.
