The fire started around 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Upon receiving the news, 8 fire brigade units arrived at the scene and controlled the fire around 12:30 pm.

Shahadat Hossain, operator of the fire service control room, confirmed to Channel I Online that the fire was under control.

Firefighter Anisur Rahman said the fire was brought under control at 12:35 pm with the best efforts of the fire service. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

According to sources from the fire service, the fire occurred on the 18th floor of the 22-story building. However, there was not much damage.
