He said the attackers entered the house and asked for money and jewelry. The masked assailants repeatedly asked Wahida Khanam for the key. A man who participated in the nationwide attack also threatened to kill his 4-year-old son if he did not hand over the key.

UNO’s father, freedom fighter Omar Ali Sheikh, told the media about the attack while lying in bed in the neurosurgery department at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

‘I went upstairs and saw a masked man asking his daughter for a key. She repeatedly wanted to know where the money and jewelry were. The man threatened to kill my grandson if he did not provide information. At one point I caught it. It was at this point that I began to argue with him. Then I hit my neck with a hammer, fell to the ground, and passed out. I can’t say what happened next. “

Wahida Khanam’s husband, Mejbaul Hossain, is working as an Officer for Pirganj Upazila Nirbahi (UN) in Rangpur. He stays in Dhaka with his injured wife. His home is in Rajshahi. Wahida Khanam’s father’s house is in Naogaon’s Mahadevpur upazila. They have a four-year-old son. Omar Ali Sheikh frequently visited Ghoraghat, his daughter’s workplace. He was with his daughter for a few days.

When asked if the attack was due to any previous enmity or any other reason, freedom fighter Omar Ali Sheikh said the masked man just wanted to know where the keys and money were. I didn’t recognize him because he was wearing a mask. I later learned that my daughter was hacked and injured. I cannot say why this attack took place. However, the person broke the bathroom fan and got out. But someone was standing outside.

Rangpur Division Commissioner Abdul Wahab, who visited the scene in the afternoon, said the cause of the attack was not yet known. We have sent UNO to Dhaka for a better deal. After the investigation, it will be known who carried out the attack and how many people were involved in the incident.
