Finally, Mufti Alauddin Jihadi, detained under the Digital Security Act, has been released on bail. On Sunday, Narayanganj District and Session Judge Anisur Rahman granted bail.
Confirming bail, Narayanganj District Judge Court (PP) prosecutor Wazed Ali Khokon said that Alauddin Jihadi had been released on bail until the charge sheet was produced.
Earlier, on September 19, Allama Shafi, the late emir of Hifazat-e-Islam, was insulted on Alauddin Jihadi’s Facebook page. On the morning of September 20, Harun Aur Rashid, Khatib from Deobhog Madrasa, filed a lawsuit against Alauddin Jihadi at Fatullah Police Station. On the same day, the Fatullah police arrested Alauddin Jihadi of Mahmudpur.
Section 144 was issued in the city of Narayanganj on Sunday morning to control any kind of unpleasant situation centered on Alauddin Jihadi. The Narayanganj district administration said section 144 would remain in effect from the city corporation building to the Chashara Shaheed Minar, the 300-bed hospital and the adjacent area from 8 a.m. on September 26 until further notice.
