Faridpur-4 Mojibur MP Rahman Chowdhury (Nixon) has insulted Charbhadrasan Deputy Commissioner (Land) Upazila Nirbahi, Officer Jasmine Sultana, by calling her. After the filtering of said phone call (audio), the issue now is ‘Talk about the country’. A letter was sent to the cabinet department to take action against the independent deputy, claiming that the executive magistrates in charge of the elections of Charbhadrasan Upazila Parishad, including the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and the Officer of Upazila Nirbahi (UNO), threatened him and they mistreated in a very contemptuous and inaudible language. Faridpur DC Atul Sarkar has written to the cabinet department to take necessary action in this regard, saying the matter goes against the code of conduct. The Cabinet Division has written to the Electoral Commission (EC) to take legal action in this regard.
Chief Elections Commissioner KM Nurul Huda told reporters in his office in the Agargaon elections building in the capital on Tuesday that the behavior of a member of Parliament (Nixon Chowdhury) was undesirable. You have violated the code of conduct and the provisions of the law will be fully applicable. As a Member of Parliament, nothing will happen in this regard. On the other hand, Congressman Nixon Chowdhury denied all the accusations against him in a press conference held at the National Press Club yesterday afternoon. He even claimed that the audio leaked to AC Land by calling UNO’s phone had been “super-credited.”
Discussions and criticism continue with the local administration, including DC-UNO from Faridpur, about this incident by MP Nixon Chowdhury among people of different professions across the country. The administration is also fighting over the issue. Officials at all levels of the administration have been angry. According to various sources, most CDs, UNO and Aceland working in field administration have to work in this way under threat from influential sectors, including local parliamentarians and their supporters. A few days ago, terrorists broke into the bedroom of Wahida Khanam, an officer of Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi, in Dinajpur and seriously injured her. Various sources have said that there was also resentment from influential local neighborhoods. In some cases, DC, UNO and AC owners have to face obstacles from local parliamentarians or their supporters and various influential sectors while working in field administration. In most cases, field administration officials are forced to follow the words of the local deputy or influential sectors.
In a letter to the cabinet secretary, DC Atul Sarkar said that Mojibur Rahman Chowdhury (Nixon) had telephoned DC Atul Sarkar to apologize for appointing an executive magistrate by the Election Commission on the occasion of the election. He expressed various fears, including blocking the road if his supporter was defeated by the appointment of a magistrate.
The letter also said that in the elections held last Saturday, the ship symbol candidate supported by Nixon Chowdhury won by more than 11,000 votes. But around 8:30 pm, at the post-election public meeting, the winning candidate Md. Kawsar and the Member of Parliament and their supporters violated the electoral code of conduct and spoke out against the local district administration, citing the deployment of 12 magistrates. He threatened and insulted the Deputy Commissioner and the District Magistrate in a very defamatory and inaudible manner. His followers chanted various unpleasant slogans, something unimaginable for a Member of Parliament or a person with a healthy mind.
Nixon insulted the Charbhadrasan UN in highly indecent language after he was detained for a short time by AC Land of Bhanga Upazila for violating the electoral code of conduct. The extremely defamatory and indecent comments against the Deputy Commissioner and the District Magistrate are an insult to the traditional institution such as the district administration that coordinates all kinds of development activities at the district level. Such disparaging statements will send the wrong message about the success of the government to the local population. It will also create extreme obstacles in the way of working with the honesty and fairness of the field administration. DC requested to take the necessary measures in this regard.
However, Rep. Nixon Chowdhury has denied the allegations made by Faridpur DC. Charbhadrasan Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) claimed in a press conference at the National Press Club yesterday that the audio of the blasphemy on the phone was broadcast on social media by ‘super-prediction’ and that he did not do such blasphemy on the phone. Nixon said: ‘On Election Day, the magistrate picked up one of our workers in the car for smoking while standing downtown. I informed UNO by phone. Statements that have been released outside of this should be edited. These have no basis. He claimed that the conspirators were spreading against him. Nixon Chowdhury said he had repeatedly spoken with UNO from Charbhadrasan to verify the truth. He blamed Faridpur DC for the whole incident and presented it at the press conference as biased.
Nixon Chowdhury said the district administration appointed four magistrates on Sept. 28 for last Saturday’s by-elections. Why were 12 magistrates appointed the day before the election? What is the letter from the EC on this? On election day, the magistrates were seen to behave harshly towards the BGB. Where the ships have more votes, the magistrates have done more violence. Regarding the violation of the code of conduct, he said there was outrage among the people at the violence perpetrated by the magistrates throughout the day. The leaders were excited. At the request of the administration, he went to “cool down” leaders and workers. He claimed that his confession had been obtained through torture and that his confession had been obtained through torture. He said: ‘UNO went to my broken house around 10 am the day after the election on the instructions of the deputy commissioner. ONE cannot come to my home within 48 hours of the election. The deputy commissioner has also violated the electoral code of conduct.
When Charbhadrasan Upazila Nirbahi officer Jasmine Sultana was asked about this, she told Naya Digant last night: ‘Every beard coma from the audio released on social media is true. No modifications were made. But I don’t know how it happened on social media. I sent the audio clip to the higher authority. Because when such a threat is made, the responsibility is to inform the higher authorities in the interest of security; But I can’t say how it leaked.
Regarding DC’s visit to Rep. Nixon Chowdhury’s home, UNO said: ‘This is your misconception. Not in the direction of DC Sir. I went to talk to him about the death of our former commander of the upazila, the housing committee. And the code of conduct would be violated if you did something at the election site. And I went to Bhanga Upazila (outside the constituency) 40 km. Far. It was the day after the elections. I just reported to DC Sir, at the official job. This did not violate the electoral code of conduct.
