That is the greatness of this victory. The undefeated century of Fawad Alam and the great society of Mohammad Rizwan broke down the walls of resistance, stopped the struggle of the last couple, crossed several laps of emotion, but did not achieve this victory! Also, this victory brought an indescribable flavor to Williamson.
New Zealand beat Pakistan 101 runs at the Mount Manganui test to advance to the two-game series. With this victory, the Kiwis secured first place in the ICC rankings for the first time in their long testing history.
Pakistan was eliminated by 261 in the second inning on Wednesday, the final day of the test.
The 101-race victory that erupted, the reality was quite the opposite. In the last over, Shahin Shah Afridi and Nasim’s last pair spent almost 8 overs on the wicket. When the match ended with Nasim’s farewell, Pakistan’s distance to the tie was just 4.3 overs!
This possible draw, even in the context of a victory unimaginable at one time, was created by Pakistan with Fawad Alam’s bat. After 10 years, he returned to the test team in December of last year. He went to England last August and could not take advantage to play 2 Tests. This test was probably the last chance for him. The 35-year-old hitter not only secured a spot in an extraordinary century, but also highlighted once again the unmistakable character of Pakistan.
In the fight to save the match, Pakistan gave a big push earlier in the day. Experienced Azhar Ali (37 of 120 balls) fired a loose shot after Trent Bolte hit a limit in the second over.

Kyle Jamison later relieved the Kiwis. The tall runner gave the team a great gift on his 26th birthday. Rizwan returned with a great delivery that penetrated with force.
Even if the referee doesn’t give up, New Zealand can break the pair of 175 36-ball runs with the review. After 61 runs in the first inning, acting captain Rizwan had 60 of 191 balls in the second inning.

Earlier, Fawad set the limit with a great pool shot from Neil Wagner. The southpaw once again had his taste for a century in 2009 after 11 1/2 years of his century against Sri Lanka. Although this is only his sixth test.

Pakistan has not yet given up. Shahin Afridi and Nasim continued to fight for the last gate. Pakistan’s chances are getting brighter. But the couple stopped playing 46 balls. When he died last afternoon, the kiwis finally shone in the light.
