Father Tim breathed his last Friday at Holy Cross House in South Bend, Indiana. He was 96 years old.

Akhila de Rezario, director of the Agricultural Workshop and Training School in Mirpur and director of the Caritas Bangladesh Trust, said that Father Tim suffered from various illnesses due to old age.
Father Tim was born on March 2, 1923 in Indiana, USA He arrived in Bangladesh in 1952. For more than six and a half decades, Father Team has played a special role in the development of education, alleviation of poverty and improving the standard of living of the people in Bangladesh.
One of the founders of Notre Dame College, he served as the sixth principal of the university. He started the science department at the university and in 1955 established the Notre Dame College Science Club. He is also the founder of Notre Dame College Debating Club and Notre Dame College Adventure Club.
Father Tim was simultaneously an educator, zoologist, and social activist. He has worked to create world public opinion in favor of the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971.
He joined Caritas as a planning officer after taking over development projects for war-torn villages after the liberation war.
Writer and journalist Sagar Lohani wrote in a Facebook post recalling Father Tim’s contribution to the people of Bangladesh, Father Tim was the principal of Notre Dame College during the catastrophic cyclone in the coastal region in 1970. At that time he went to the ruined island of Monpura with some students. Seeing the indescribable misery of the residents there, stand by his side. He then returned to Dhaka, took a six-month leave from university, and returned to serve the distressed people of Monpura.
Sagar Lohani wrote that the Bangladesh government awarded Father’s Team the Liberation War Award for their role in the liberation war. Father Tim received the Radon Magsaysay Award in 1986 for his service to humanity.
It has extended a helping hand to the defenseless people of Bangladesh in various natural calamities, including the 1986 floods.
