Father stabbed by three sons

A father was stabbed to death by his three sons in Hazaribagh Basila, the capital.

The deceased was identified as Lal Mia, 45 years old. The incident took place around 2 p.m. Tuesday.

He was rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMC) with blood and doctors pronounced him dead at around 3.15pm.

Shahar Ali, the deceased’s younger brother, said they had their own home near the Hazaribagh South Basila Bridge. The three-story house of his older brother Lal Mia. He lived on the second floor. The three boys lived separately in the same house. Lal Mia divorced his wife Arjuda Begum seven or eight months ago due to a family dispute. His divorced wife Arjuda Begum also lived on the third floor of the house. The three sons positioned themselves on behalf of the mother. Lal Mia used to quarrel with her son and his ex-wife from time to time.

This afternoon, the eldest son Zahirul Islam, the eldest son Sajjadul and the youngest son Milon entered the house and stabbed Lal Mia in the chest and abdomen. At that time Arjuda Begum was on duty at the door.

He said: ‘We heard the sound and went in and saw my brother in a bloody state. I rescued him and took him to Sikdar Medical College first. After taking him to Dhaka Medical College, doctors pronounced him dead.

Said the DMEC hospital police commissioner in charge (inspector). Confirming the death, Bachchu Mia said: ‘The body has been kept in the morgue for the autopsy. The incident has been reported to the corresponding police station.
