Father of former deputy accused of ‘killing’ his son

Former Sirajganj MP Shahidul Islam Khan has reported that his son, lawyer Asif Imtiaz Khan Jisad, was killed.

“My son was not weak enough to commit suicide,” he told The Daily Star on Saturday. He studied law, he is a man of personality. He was deliberately killed. And from the beginning they have tried to portray the matter as suicide.

The attorney for the Supreme Court said: ‘The incident took place at 4.30 am. But they informed us at 8:30. We went to the hospital and saw that the boy was no longer alive. ‘

He said that there was family discontent between them over the immoral relationship between Asif’s wife. That is why it is believed that Asif was killed.

Asif fell from the nine-story gallery of his home at 173 Kathalbagan Free School Street in the capital around 4:30 a.m. yesterday. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in critical condition. The doctor on duty declared him dead at around 5.30 p.m.

Yesterday a case of “unnatural death” was filed at the Kalabagan Police Station. Kalabagan Police Deputy Inspector (SI) and Investigative Officer Anwar Hossain confirmed the matter to The Daily Star.

When asked about the cause of Asif’s death, he said: “An autopsy and a viscera report have been requested.” If you get that, the reason will be understood. Nothing can be said about this before.

When asked about the family’s’ murder ‘accusation, he said:’ Family members took the body and buried it. So no one made any more complaints.

According to Asif’s family sources, Asif married Sabrina Shahid Nishita four years ago. After the marriage, he lived in his father-in-law’s house in Kathalbagan. The Asif couple have no children.

The family further said that Asif was a student in the political science department of Dhaka University in the 2005-2006 academic year. Barrister served on the Supreme Court after approval. He was also legal advisor to Desh Trading Corporation in Motijheel.
