Gaibandha: The detained person is a resident of the Kishamat Sarbananda village of the Sarbananda union in Sundarganj. He was sent to jail by the court last Sunday afternoon. Earlier, the victim’s mother filed a rape case on Saturday night.
According to the case account, the victim was married to the man’s son three months ago. The husband of the housewife worked as a laborer in different parts of the country. That is why he stays at home less. The father-in-law raped the woman last Saturday. The housewife was warned that she would be harmed if she told someone about the matter.
Agailjhara (Barisal): Agailjhara Police Inspector (investigation) Mazharul Islam said that the defendant Masud Mollah was the son of the late Musa Mollah from East Sujankathi village in Agailjhara upazila. A case has been brought against Masood for raping a teenage girl by calling her for a ration card. The defendant was sent to jail yesterday by the court. The victim has been sent to Barisal Medical College Hospital for a physical examination.
Sreevardi (Sherpur): Abu Siddique, 22, of Sreevardi, has been charged with rape for trying to get married. According to the statement, Abu Siddique raped a ninth-grade student on November 14 while speaking about marriage. A young man named Morshed helped with this. At that time, the police received a call from the 999 emergency helpline and rescued the victim. However, the accused have fled.
Gazipur: A garment worker filed a case Sunday night alleging attempted rape of a garment worker in Konabari. The police arrested the defendant Masum Billah (38). Masum Billah is the Production Manager (PM) of PN Composite Factory in the Ambag area of Konabari and son of the late Nazrul Islam from Dhandi village of Baufal Police Station in Patuakhali. He rented the Alamgir driver’s house in the Ambag area.
Bishwanath (Sylhet): Bishwanath police arrested a 30-year-old man named Suzel Ahmed for allegedly attempting to rape the wife of a British expatriate in Bishwanath, Sylhet. He is the son of Rafiq Miah from the village of Joynagar (Noapara) in the Khajanchi union of the upazila. He was arrested at his home on Monday afternoon.
According to local sources, the wife of a British expat (25) has been living with her family at her uncle’s house in the village of Joynagar for a long time. Suzel Ahmed, from the house next door, teased him often. He is the distant cousin of the expat’s wife. Suzelle was tortured last Friday.
Faridpur: A university student has been charged with attempted rape in the Dumain Union of Madhukhali Upazila. Neighbor and classmate of the university student. Robin Sheikh (20) caused the incident. Robin is the son of Chunnu Sheikh from that village. The student filed a complaint with the Madhukhali Police Station on Sunday.
