Dhaka – A father and son died after losing control of a motorcycle in Demra, the capital.
The accident took place in the Konapara area of Demra around 6pm on Sunday (October 18).
After taking Anisur Rahman Babul (55) to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition, the doctor on duty declared him dead at around 10:15 pm. His son Sadman Rahim (22) died on the spot.
Anisur’s brother-in-law said. Mahmud said that Anisur Rahman Babul lives with his family at Matuail Madhyapara No. 39 with his wife and two children. This is your permanent address. He owns a shingle business on Green Road. His eldest son, Sadman Rahim, is a sophomore with honors from Borhanuddin College.
He said: ‘In the evening I received the news that both father and son were injured in a motorcycle accident in the Konapara area of Demra. They were taken to the famous Konapara hospital. Later I went there and saw them in shock. Doctors pronounced Rahim dead. His body was taken home. And Anisur was sent to Dhaka Medical College. When he was later taken to Dhaka Medical College, the doctor on duty declared him dead. ‘
Zakaria Ahmed, a young man who accompanied them to the hospital, said that Anisur’s father along with his eldest son Sadman Rahim and youngest son Sadman Fahim went to the Konapara Motorcycle Service Center. From there, Rahim and his father Anisur Rahman were returning on a motorcycle and Fahim was on another motorcycle. In the Konapara Dharmikpara area, Rahim lost control while crossing another motorcycle and his motorcycle collided with an electric pole on the side of the road. Both father and son were seriously injured. From there they were taken to the famous hospital next door.
DMEC hospital police camp in charge (inspector) said. Bachchu Mia confirmed Anisur Rahman’s death and said his body was in the morgue.
Demra Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Rafiqul Islam confirmed the death of the father and son.
