The renowned literary Debesh Roy no longer exists. She last breathed at 10:50 pm on Thursday (May 14) in a private nursing home in Baguio, West Bengal. He was 84 years old at the time of his death. The Calcutta-based Anandabazar newspaper reported that the writer had been ill for a long time. He also suffered from a lack of physical balance due to vertigo problems. He was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday with dehydration.
This novelist, one of the leading figures in Bengali literature, was also known in Bangladesh for his literary works. His fictional narrative has portrayed him differently. Debesh Roy was also very excited about Dhaka’s literature.
When the news of his death spread on Thursday night, some of his readers in Bangladesh also expressed their pain through social media. Debesh Roy grew up in North Bengal, according to a report in Kolkata, India. He has been involved in direct politics since his college days. He traveled throughout northern Bengal on the basis of politics. He learned the Rajbangshi language. During his stay in Calcutta, he actively formed unions and maintained close contacts with the working class. Along with all this, he used to practice literature. He has been editing Parichay Patrika for a decade since 1989. His first novel is ‘Jayati’. His first collection of eight stories was ‘Ahnik Gati O Madhajkher Darwaza’, ‘Dupur’, ‘Pa’, ‘Kolkata and Gopal’, ‘Pachchbhumi’, ‘Ichchamati’, ‘Desarme Ken’ and ‘Udhavastu’. Tistapar’s ‘biography’ is his most popular novel. There is an impression of his political vision in this novel. There is a lot of life in North Bengal. The realist moved away from the conventional table of novels and brought polyphony. He received the Sahitya Akademi Prize in 1990 for this novel.
