After the death of a university student in a lightning strike at Phulbari in Kurigram, relatives of the murdered young man have been guarding the tent by the grave for five days and five nights to prevent the theft of the body. Arrangements have been made to sit and sleep under a polythene tent by the grave. A wooden stool has been provided. Such a scene was seen near the grave of a university student when he went to the Ghogarkuti village of the Baravita union of the Upazila on Saturday afternoon.
The murdered college student said he would protect the body for three months to prevent theft.

Earlier on the morning of September 1, university student Ariful Islam was killed by lightning while covering a shalom machine with polyethylene during the rain. The deceased was identified as Ariful Islam. She is a Phulbari Degree College student and an HSC examinee.
Ariful Islam used to live and study in various houses in Ghogarkuthi village since her childhood. Her body was buried in the land bought by her mother 300 meters from several houses. Ariful Islam’s grandfather Azgar Ali, Uncle Hafizur Rahman, Swapan, Sohag, and Ariful’s younger brother Ashikur are guarding the grave day and night. For the past five days, relatives have been protecting the area by erecting a polyethylene tent 10 meters from the grave to prevent robberies.
Ariful Islam’s uncle Mofizul Haque and Aunt Kulsum Begum said that Ariful’s mother, Rahila Begum, is currently in Jordan. Ariful died suddenly in lightning. The head of the corpse of a person killed by lightning is very valuable in Kabiraji Shastra. They guard the grave day and night for fear of stealing the body.
Kurigram Civil Surgeon. Habibur Rahman said there could be nothing of value on the skeleton of the person killed by lightning. It is superstitious and irrational. The lightning bolt has nothing to do with the skeleton of the murdered person.
