The scammers are trying to cheat by creating fake websites in the form of websites under the National Information Window (Portal) and issuing fake appointment letters to agencies under the Ministry of Lands.
Today, Sunday (September 6), Mr. Ruhul Amin, an electrician from the Land Administration Training Center (LATC) under the Ministry of Lands, informed the interested authorities that the appointment letter would be published on the website ‘www .latcgovbd.com ‘on behalf of three other people, including himself. Done.
After a preliminary investigation, it was discovered that a fraudulent site had created a bogus site in the form of the Land Administration Training Center (LATC) website. The fake website (www.latcgovbd.com) was created by copying the real LATC website (www.latc.gov.bd) and three other alleged individuals, including Md. Ruhul Amin – ‘Md. Raihan Rahman ‘,’ Md. Abdus Salam ‘and Scammers have issued false appointment letters on behalf of’ Md. Ariful Islam ‘on June 21, 2020.
In fact, no appointment letters have been issued on behalf of LATC’s Md. Raihan Rahman, Md. Abdus Salam and Md. Ariful Islam. The letter of appointment described is false. Creating fake government websites, forging signatures and providing fake appointment letters is a serious and punishable offense.
It is worth mentioning that Mr. Ruhul Amin, an electrician from the LATC office, received the letter of appointment on June 21 in Memorandum No. 482. He currently works at LATC. Apparently, the creators of the bogus website compiled the memorandum and letter of appointment from the original LATC website and used a part by scanning it. Furthermore, it appears that the fraudsters were or are planning to extort money from the three people mentioned above (even if their names are not fake), including the real designee Md. Ruhul Amin.
The matter has already been emailed to ATUI, the lead developer of the LATC website portal, and the necessary action has been requested. BTCL has also been asked to take legal action against the creators of the fake government website and report their names and full addresses to the Land Management Training Center. In addition, preparations are under way to file a case under the Digital Security Act at the New Market Police Station.
The Ministry has advised esteemed citizens to immediately inform law enforcement agencies if anyone demands money on behalf of providing employment in the Ministry of Lands or its affiliated departments / agencies. All concerned are cordially requested not to be distracted by fake quotes. The Ministry of Lands has issued several warning notices in this regard.
Please note that the spelling of the domain name of the fake website is different from the spelling of the name of the Land Management Training Center website. But very close. The address of the real website of the Land Administration Training Center (www.latc.gov.bd) and the address of the fake website (www.latcgovbd.com). In particular, the second level domain of the fake website is ‘latcgovbd’ and the top level domain is ‘.com’.
