The Facebook authorities have decided to block Donald Trump from Facebook for the rest of his days in power. The decision could be indefinite, said Mark Zuckerberg, the company’s chief executive. Zuckerberg said on his official website that the decision was made to provoke recent violence in the country.
“Our platform is being used to incite violent revolts against democratically elected governments,” Zuckerberg wrote. We believe it is risky to allow Trump to continue to use our services during this period. So I am blocking their Facebook and Instagram accounts indefinitely. The decision will remain in effect for at least the next two weeks until a peaceful transition of power is completed.
Earlier on Thursday (January 8), Twitter and Facebook blocked Donald Trump’s account. The two social media outlets made the decision after Trump supporters began tweeting about the issue following an unprecedented attack on Capitol Hill in the United States Congress building.
