Expat wife commits suicide by jumping under train 950266 | Voice of tomorrow

Lily Begum, the wife of a Dubai expat, committed suicide by jumping under a train at Naldanga in Natore. She committed suicide by jumping under the Khulna-bound Rupsha intercity train from Chilahati south of the Naldanga train station in Upazila around 1.30pm on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Lily Begum, 35, wife of Siddiqur Rahman, a Dubai expatriate from Arjanpara village under the union of Hamirkutsa of Bagmara upazila in Rajshahi.

Naldanga train station teacher Subrata Kumar and locals said that Rupsa committed suicide by jumping under an intercity train south of the Naldanga train station in upazila around 1.30pm on Saturday. Witnesses said the late Lily Begum had been waiting for the train at the Naldanga station since the morning.

He added that Shamsir Islam, a member of Hamirkutsa UP in Rajshahi’s Bagmara upazila, identified the body and said that Siddiqur Rahman, the husband of the late Lily, had gone to Dubai six months ago to earn a living. They had a happy family with a son and a daughter. However, he was physically ill. Later, Santahar Railway GRP police arrived and recovered the body and sent it to the morgue for an autopsy.
