Dhaka: The University Scholarship Commission (UGC) has issued seven guidelines to prolong the coronavirus situation and for students to take the final semester practical class exam at Honors and Masters level at private universities for a safe future career.

Practical classes and exams will be completed with the participation of no more than 10 students in each class. Students must arrive on campus only half an hour before the start of practical classes and exams and leave the campus within half an hour after the end of the course. We have to make sure that the distance is kept.

If a student, teacher or staff member is infected with the corona virus due to practical classes and exams, it is the responsibility of their respective universities to organize their treatment. The Commission will not assume any responsibility in this regard.

The letter stated that this instruction will apply only to taking Honors and Masters level final semester practical classes and exams.

After the start of the Corona epidemic, all educational institutions in the country were closed as of March 16. Apart from this year’s primary and ibtedayi final exam, the JSC-JDC exam, the HSC exam, and the annual exam at the primary and secondary level have been canceled. Due to Kovid-19’s protracted status under UGC guidance regarding exams at private universities, it was mentioned that requests were received for a significant number of applications from private universities for guidance on practical classes and how to complete exams and assessments.

The letter asked to ensure adequate compliance and follow-up of the general instructions issued on May 8.

According to the UGC, in the wake of the horrors of Kovid-19 and its aftermath, on May 8 and 20 and August 18, the commission issued instructions on conducting classes and exams, evaluating and admitting students to private universities. The instruction indicates that practical classes for all lab-based courses and exams and assessments should be completed directly in the classroom, allotting additional time as soon as the situation becomes normal.
