Allama Junaid Babungari, a member of Hefazat-e-Islam, said that journalists are the wealth of the nation and the nation is eagerly awaiting true news from them in any situation in the country. Even if your true news is against me, I won’t mind. He said that he would tell the truth even if it went against me.
He said this while exchanging views with local journalists at the Hathazari Madrasa in Chittagong on Wednesday night.
At that time, he said, journalists are the wealth of the nation, the nation is eagerly waiting to receive true news from them in any situation in the country.
Hefazat Amir further said that it is the moral duty of patriotic journalists to provide accurate news in the interest of maintaining law and order. Patriotism is part of the faith, we love the country, protecting the independence and sovereignty of the country is also our faithful duty. If the independence and sovereignty of the country survives, we will have it all.
Present at the meeting were Maulana Ashraf Ali Nizampuri, senior muhaddis of Hathazari Madrasa, Mufti Abdullah Najib, executive editor of Mesenul Islam, Maulana Muhammad Abdus Sabur, general secretary, and Maulana In’amul Hasan Farooqui, personal assistant to the emir.
