The United States has seen an increase in racist attacks over the past decade, according to an FBI report. According to the report, there were 51 murders in 2019 due to this. This is more than double that of the previous year.
In August of last year, 22 people were killed in an attack on Mexicans in El Paso, Texas.
Ethnic-religious hate crimes have increased in the United States every year since 2014. Protesters say the number of such crimes is on the rise as conversations about orthodoxy and racism increase.

The FBI’s annual report on racist crimes states that there were 8,314 crimes last year. In 2016, this number was 6,120. But since the calculation began in 2007, the number of racist crimes has been 7.6.
The FBI defines racist hate crimes as: “The main reasons behind racial, ethnic, religious, ancestral history, sexual orientation, physical and mental disability and gender discrimination.”
According to the FBI, the number of crimes committed for religious reasons has increased by seven percent. On the other hand, crimes against Jews and Jewish institutions only increased by 14%. There were 528 crimes against Latinos in 2019. This is 7.8% more than the previous year. Attacks on blacks are higher than on other ethnic groups in the United States. The number of attacks against them in 2016 was 1,943. However, the FBI says that number dropped slightly to 1,930 last year.
