According to eyewitnesses, tensions between supporters of two councilor candidates Sarwar Kamal and Abdul Mannan have been high since this morning. At one point in the afternoon, clashes, arson and gunfire broke out between the two sides. The brother of candidate for councilman Mannan, Abdul Mabud, was shot and killed by the opposition. He said one person was injured in a shooting in front of the South Gobindarkhil center in the 6th district in the Patia municipal elections. When they took him to the Patia Upazila Health Complex, the doctor on duty declared him dead. Additional BGB, RAB and police forces were deployed to the center after the incident.
