The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved four projects at a cost of Tk 534.34 crore. Of this, the government of Bangladesh will provide Tk 440.96 crore and a foreign loan of Tk 93.40 crore.
The approval was given at an ECNEC meeting chaired by the ECNEC president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday.
At the press conference after the ECNEC meeting, the Minister of Planning and interested members of the Ministry of Planning gave details of the projects.
Among the projects approved today are the Urban Resilience Project (URP) of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works: RAJUK project (First Amendment); The “Physical Infrastructure Development (First Review)” project of the Ministry of Education, Rajshahi University; Project ‘Conservation and Development of Indigenous Species of Fish and Snails’ of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock and Project ‘Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park, Gazipur Approach Road Widening and Other Needed Infrastructure Development (Second Amendment)’ of the Ministry of Forests and Climate Change.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Finance, AHM Mustafa Kamal, the Minister of Planning, MA Mannan, Minister of Agriculture. Abdur Razzak, Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives. Tajul Islam, Minister of Education. Dipu Moni, the Minister of Industry, Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, the Minister of Commerce, Tipu Munshi, the Minister of Fisheries and Livestock, Sh. METER. Rezaul Karim and the Minister of the Environment, Forests and Climate Change. Shahab Uddin. The meeting was also attended by secretaries and senior officials from the concerned ministries.
