A young man named Sabidul Islam Sajjad (24) was stabbed to death in Chandanaish in Chittagong’s Satkania Upazila by a friend overnight. Sajjad’s friend, Rabiul Islam, fled after the incident. The police are looking for him.
The incident took place around 8:30 pm Thursday at the Kaliaish Union BOC crossing in upazila. Sajjad was later transferred to Dohazari Green Residential Hospital in critical condition. When he was taken to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital in critical condition, Sajjad died on the way.
Sajjad’s father’s name is Kafil Uddin (deceased). He was a resident of the Botghata area of Chandnaish Township in Dohazari. Rabiul’s father’s name is Islam Mia (deceased). They are residents of the Kaliyaish Union, Satkania.
Police said Sajjad along with some friends went to the home of his friend Rabiul Islam on Thursday. At noon they all ate at Rabiul’s house. Around 8.30pm, Sajjad was talking to some of his friends at the corner of BOC. At that moment Rabiul arrived and stabbed Sajjad in the chest without saying anything.
The police further said that friends who were with Sajjad grabbed Rabiul and started beating him. At one point, Rabiul managed to escape. Sajjad was later taken to the Dohazari Green Hospital by his friends and locals. After initial treatment, the doctor on call sent him to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Sajjad died on the way.

Said the Satkania Police Officer in Charge (OC). Anwar Hossain said that Sajjad and Rabiul were friends. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving office. Initially, the killings are believed to have been caused by a dispute. Rabiul is a fugitive. The police are looking for him. In this case, the necessary measures will be taken.
