Rescue teams have rescued a 4-year-old boy trapped in the rubble 91 hours after a powerful earthquake struck Turkey. At the same time, the death toll has risen to 100.

The local mayor said Tuesday that rescuers had rescued a girl named Aida from the rubble about four days after the earthquake and taken her to hospital.

Nusrat, a member of the rescue team, told reporters that he heard the girl screaming and rescued her from a plate in the bathroom.

“We rescued a three-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy from the rubble of Izmir a day after they were rescued alive,” he said.

The country’s disaster management authority said it was searching five more buildings to rescue the missing. More than 3,500 tents and 13,000 beds were being set up in their temporary shelters.
