The body of a seven-year-old boy named Abdullah, who drowned in Barguna and later floated in the Bishkhali River, has been recovered. Locals found the body floating in the Mollarhora area of the Bishkhali river in Barguna around 7 p.m. Friday. After receiving the news, the police arrived at the scene and sent the body to the morgue of the Barguna General Hospital for an autopsy.
Earlier Thursday night, his brother-in-law Muslem dumped Abdullah’s body in the Biskhali River after his death. After killing Abdullah, the locals arrested Muslem as he tried to kill his younger brother Afsan, aged one and a half, drowning him in the same way. Later, the police arrested the Muslim.
Babul Mollah, a resident of the area, said that at night, a fisherman named Badal saw Abdullah’s body floating in the river and carried him to shore. After receiving the news, the police went to the scene and took the body to the morgue of the Barguna General Hospital for an autopsy.
Meanwhile, Abdullah’s father died in the murder. Chagir Hossain has filed a murder case against his Muslim son-in-law. Moslem, who was arrested in the case, was arrested and brought before the court, which ordered his imprisonment.
Tariqul Islam, the officer in charge of the Barguna Sadar police, said divers conducted a search in the Bishkhali River on Friday afternoon to retrieve the body of the boy Abdullah. But the divers did not find Abdullah’s body. Later on Friday night, the fishermen found the body floating in the river and reported it to the police. Later, the police took the body to the morgue of the Barguna General Hospital.
