Police arrested Dulabhai on charges of killing a teenage brother-in-law traveling from Bogra to the Basan Mogarkhal area of Gazipur City Corporation. He confessed to the murder during police questioning. He was arrested at a rented house in the Mogarkhal area of the city around 3.30pm on Monday.
The person arrested is Shahar Ali alias Sohan (28). His home is in the Goalbatan village of Sariakandi in Bogra. The deceased was identified as Rana Ahmed, 18 years old. He is the son of Abul Qasim Pramanik from the village of Ramchandrapur in the same upazila. The body of the teenager was recovered from the ground behind a border wall in the Mogarkhal area yesterday morning.
According to the deceased teenager’s family sources, Rana came to visit his sister’s home in the Mogarkhal area of Gazipur two weeks ago from Bogra. I was looking for work. He spent most of the day at his sister’s house at night with his older brother Johnny. Rana dropped off his brother at his sister’s house around 8.30pm on Sunday. But he did not return home. The next morning, the locals informed the sister’s family when they saw Rana’s body dumped there. Upon receiving the news, the police went to retrieve the body.
