The court ordered JKG Health Care President Sabrina Arif Chowdhury, who is in jail on charges of cheating on the coronavirus test, to receive a division under jail rules. On Monday (September 26), the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court Sarafuzzaman Ansari heard that Sabrina’s lawyer, Farooq Ahmed, had requested a division. After the request, the judge ordered the jail authorities to give Sabrina a division according to jail rules. Dr. Sabrina’s attorney, Farooq Ahmed, confirmed the information.

The court heard the case against eight people, including Sabrina, on Monday (September 27) and took testimony from a caregiver named Yasin. After the testimony, the court has set October 11 to take the next testimony. Dhaka Metropolitan Attorney General Abdullah Abu confirmed the information. He said the testimony of five witnesses in the case was over.
The other defendants in the case are Ariful Chowdhury, Abu Saeed Chowdhury, Himu, Tanzila, Bipul, Shafiqul Islam Romeo and Jebunnesa.
In early August 20, the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court Sarafuzzaman Ansari brought charges against the defendants.
On August 8, Dhaka Metropolitan Chief Magistrate Zulfiqar Hayat received the charge sheet for the case. He then ordered that the case be transferred to the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court Sarafuzzaman Ansari for trial. At the same time, he set August 13 for the hearing.
At the beginning of August 5, DB Police Inspector Liaquat Ali filed the charge sheet against eight people, including Sabrina and Arif, at noon at the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrates Court. The charge sheet lists Sabrina and Arif as the main culprits. The rest have helped them commit fraud and forgery. They have been accused of fraud and deception. Among the defendants, Himu, Tanzila and Romeo pleaded guilty and testified in court.
According to the case file, the police arrested Humayun Kabir Hiru, a former graphic designer at JKG, and his wife Tanjin Patwari on June 22 in the case. Hiru confessed that he used to design fake crown certificates, which involved people from the JKG group. Based on that information, the police arrested four people, including Ariful, the executive director of JKG. Said the CEO, the president of the organization. It all happened with the knowledge of Sabrina Arif Chowdhury.
Then, on July 12, Dr. Sabrina Arif Chowdhury was arrested. She was in preventive detention for three days on July 13. Following his preventive detention, the court granted him another two-day preventive detention on July 17. Arif Chowdhury was arrested and placed on remand in the case on June 23. Subsequently, on July 15, the court granted him another four-day preventive detention. At the end of pre-trial detention, all the accused are currently in prison.
Dr. Sabrina Arif Chowdhury is a physician at the National Heart Institute. Sabrina is the reason JKG Healthcare took it upon herself to collect crown samples. Initially, permission was granted to install sample collection stations on the Titumir College site, but 44 stations were installed at different locations, including Dhaka, Nayanganj, Narsingdi and Gazipur. They hire field workers to collect the samples. When patients called their hotline numbers, field workers would go home and take samples from the booth. By collecting samples in this way, they reported coronary tests to 26,000 patients. Of these, corona samples from 11,540 people were adequately tested through the IEDCR. The reports of the remaining 15,460 people were made by the organization through falsification. Police said they took 5,000 rupees for each certificate.
