Government officials have pledged not to allow any insult or disrespect to the nation’s father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by holding demonstrations across the country, including Dhaka.

On Saturday, a demonstration was held under the banner of the Government Officials Forum at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital, under the motto ‘Respect the Father of the Nation, I will keep Mora Amlan ‘. At the same time, government officials also met in districts and upazilas of the country.

BCS cadre officers in cadres attended the rally. Several thousand officers were present.

At a rally at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center, Ahmed Kaikaus, Chief Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office, said: “We will not allow any injustice or disrespect to the Father of the Nation in our life. This is the commitment of today”. We are the servants of the people. The constitution contains the father of the nation. Our responsibility is to defend the constitution. If we exist, the Father of the Nation has no chance of being underestimated. We have become committed to the entire nation, we will not allow such an incident to occur.

The Chief Secretary urged everyone to say the word Joy Bangla from now on. He said, the word Joybangla is from war of liberation. From now on, permission will be sought from the government if necessary to use the term. When he spoke the slogan ‘Joy Bangla’, the officials present also spoke the slogan ‘Joy Bangla’.

Welcoming the meeting in Dhaka, Helaluddin Ahmed, chairman of the Bangladesh Administration Services Association and chief secretary of the local government department, said that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was constitutionally recognized as the father of the nation. Bangabandhu and independence are closely linked. The anti-independent clique continues to deny this great leader. They scream that the Bangabandhu sculpture cannot be built. But any kind of harm, any insult to Bangabandhu will not be accepted, it will not be tolerated.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed has vowed to crack down on the constitution and the state. He said that Bangabandhu is part of the constitution. Bangabandhu gave him the country and the flag, he gave him the map. An attack on him is an attack on the constitution and the state, an attack on the people. The state must treat it harshly through its laws and regulations.

Also speaking at the rally in Dhaka were BCS Women Network President and Food Secretary Moshammat Nazmanara Khanum, Director General of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education Syed Golam Faruk on behalf of BCS Education Cadre, Secretary General of the Services Association Judges from Bangladesh, Bikash Kumar Sesard, Mahmud Khandaker and Shamsul Alam from the Ansar cadre.
