The Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has received information of perverted sex with the body of a woman in the morgue while conducting DNA testing and profile in case of accidental death. A young man has been arrested in the incident.
In five cases at the Mohammadpur and Kafrul police stations, HIVS (high vaginal swab) DNA evidence and semen profiles were found from the same person, the CID said on Friday. Initially it is thought that a person killed the victim after the rape or that the victim committed suicide after being raped by the same person. The IADC Dhaka Metropolitan West Division was charged with investigating the matter. The investigation revealed that HVS was dispatched from the forensic department of a medical school from March last year to August this year.
Gathering information from the domes of the medical school, it is observed that in five cases the body brought for the autopsy was the same one that guarded the night. The suspicion was further intensified when a dome called Munna Bhakta was covered up after the CID investigation began. Munna was arrested yesterday in a case brought under Articles 36, 180 and 109 of the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station Penal Code (Case No. 40). The CID said the defendant’s DNA profile was found to be similar to the DNA profile found on the body.
