Dhaka: Former Police Superintendent (AC) Harun Aur Rashid of Narayanganj and Gazipur has been transferred again to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
He was appointed Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the DMP in a circular signed by Dhananjay Kumar Das, deputy secretary of the public security department at the Home Office, on Thursday (May 14).
On November 3 last year, the Narayanganj Police Superintendent, Harun Aur Rashid, was transferred to the Police Superintendent (TR) branch of the police headquarters. After a long time, he was appointed Deputy Commissioner of DMP.
A month before the Eleventh Parliamentary Election in 2016, the Electoral Commission (EC) withdrew the then SP of Narayanganj Anisur Rahman. Later Harun Aur Rashid joined as SP of Narayanganj and served for 11 months.
Previously, SP Harun was named Gazipur District SP on August 24, 2014. He was transferred from Gazipur to DMP on August 1, 2016 in a notification from the Department of Public Security of the Home Office.
The SP Harun Aur Rashid was withdrawn from Gazipur on April 21 of that year according to the instructions of the Electoral Commission focused on the UP elections in Gazipur Sadar, Sreepur and Kapasia in the third phase of the Union Parishad (UP) elections in 2016.
After the elections, the Ministry of the Interior lifted the order of withdrawal and reinstated him as Superintendent of Police in Gazipur on May 3 of that year.
In addition, Harun was also in charge of DMP before serving in Gazipur. At that time, the attack on BNP leader Zainul Abdin Farooq was discussed.
In a similar circular on Thursday, the additional DMP commissioner, Mofiz Uddin Ahmed, was transferred as deputy inspector general (DIG) of Sylhet Range.
DMP Deputy Commissioner of the Division of Media and Public Relations (DC) said. Masudur Rahman to the post of Deputy Inspector General of Police (AIG), Faridpur district SP. Alimuzzaman has been transferred as SP from Meherpur District and SM Murad Ali, SP from Meherpur District has been transferred as SP from Faridpur District.
