Dewanbagi Pir was born on December 14, 1949 in Ashuganj, Brahmanbaria. He studied from Karimia Alia Madrasa in Talshahr to Fazil. Abul Fazal Sultana Ahmed, the founder of Chandrapara Darbar in Faridpur, married Hamida Begum, daughter of Chandrapuri. Soon after, he built a dormitory at a place called Dewanbagh in Narayanganj and began to identify himself as a Sufi emperor. From there, the word Dewanbagi is associated with his name. Later he started his activities by building a permanent court at 147 Arambagh in Motijheel.
