The Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) arrested film director Ananya Mamun and actor Shaheen Mridha in a pornography case for allegedly insulting the police in a dialogue from a scene from the film ‘Nawab LLB’. Later, when they were presented at the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Court, the judge ordered that they be sent to jail.

Ananya Mamun and actor Shaheen Mridha were arrested at their Mirpur home at midnight on Thursday.

DB Police Inspector Abul Kalam Azad, the investigating officer on the case, brought them to court on Friday afternoon. In court, the investigator asked to keep the two defendants in jail in the case presented at the Ramna police station. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Moinul Islam accepted his request to remain in jail.

In a scene from ‘Nawab LLB’, a woman who was raped goes to the police station to present a case. In that scene, an SI cop (played by Shaheen Mridha) asked several questions about the rape of the woman. The police objected to this.
