In a remote village in the north-eastern Indian state of Nagaland, a rumor has emerged that a “diamond deposit” has been found. As soon as the earth is excavated, pieces of diamonds emerge.
As soon as this news spreads on social media, treasure hunters flock to the Wanching people in Qatar. This was reported by the Hindustan Times.
Earlier this week, some villagers found several glass shards under the ground while clearing the forest above Tiller in this village in the Mann district of Nagaland. The news spread from their mouths to the entire town. Everyone grabbed the piece of diamond crystal. Immediately there was a commotion throughout the town. They all came to the forest above Tiller with shovels, shovels and picks. An attempt was made to dig the ground and rescue the hidden treasure.
Meanwhile, as soon as enthusiasts posted those photos and videos on social media, the story of the diamond discovery spread like wildfire. Because of this, a crowd of diamond seekers began to gather in Wanching village. The Wanching Gram Panchayat has imposed a ban on the entry of foreigners. Strict restrictions have also been placed on posts related to this on social media.
Meanwhile, the news has reached the ears of the administration in the remote villages of the Mann district. Four geologists set out for Wanching Village on Friday to see if the recovered crystals were really diamonds. They are supposed to arrive in your village on November 30 or December 1.
They will present a report to the state government after an on-the-spot investigation.
The Mann District Deputy Commissioner said there was room for doubt as to whether the crystal recovered from the ground was diamond at all. Although it is not a diamond, he believes that the crystals are quartz ruins. It claims that its value is not less, as it is useful in various tasks. As a result, the locals are likely to benefit from it, thinks the deputy commissioner. However, he said any comment on the matter would be unfounded until experts investigate.
On the other hand, GT Thong, professor of geology at Nagaland University, said: “The rocks are ordinary quartz crystals. These crystals are always found in different parts of Nagaland. ‘
According to him, someone motivated by motives is trying to profit by deceiving the simple villagers.
He added that no diamonds had been found in the area before.
