Gold prices fall again in the country’s market. The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has set a new gold price by reducing Tk 1,517 per fill. As a result, the price of good quality gold stood at Rs 61,150. The new price of gold came into effect from Wednesday.

The information was released in a circular signed by Bajus Chairman Enamul Haque Khan and Secretary General Dilip Kumar Agarwala on Tuesday.

According to the new price, as of today, the price of Pratibhari gold (11.64 grams) of good quality (22 carats) has been set at 1,516 Tk per kg and at 61,151 Tk. 21 karat gold is set at Tk 8,001, 18 karat gold at Tk 59,252 and traditional gold at Tk 47,931.

However, although the price of gold has dropped, the default price of silver has remained the same. Depending on the category, the price of 22 karat silver has been set at 1,516 Tk. The price of 21 karat silver has been set at Rs 1,435, 18 karat silver at Rs 1,225 and traditional method silver at Rs 933.

Dilip Kumar Agarwala, general secretary of the Bangladesh Jewelery Association, said that the price of gold has fallen in line with the international market. He asked all jewelry merchants to sell Bajus to the fixed price list until he received instructions.
