According to Sylhet Railway Station sources, 5 railway officers and employees came from Dhaka with money from the Sylhet Railway Station staff salary. But after reaching Sylhet, at least 60/70 passengers were seen getting off the train.

It has been alleged that passengers were picked up from Dhaka on two coaches on the pretext of bringing money in wages. A large sum of money was also taken from the passengers, said a rail official, who declined to be identified.

Sylhet railway station manager Khalilur Rahman denied the allegations and told banglanews: “Although we were supposed to bring five people with wages, the train stopped at each station and delivered the wages.” But later I learned that 24 people, including people from the railway security forces, came to Sylhet. No other people got on the train.
