Awami League President Sheikh Hasina approved the full committee of the Dhaka Metropolitan South and North Awami League, two important units of the ruling Awami League. Awami League Secretary General Obaidul Quader will deliver the committee to the city’s president and general secretaries tonight. A source from the Awami League told Kaler Kantha that.
According to sources, the leaders of the Dhaka Metropolitan Awami League went to the home of the Awami League secretary general, Obaidul Quader, in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban area around 7pm on Wednesday. The general secretary of the Awami League will hand over the entire metropolis committee there.
When asked shortly after 7 pm, Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League President Bazlur Rahman told Kaler Kantha: “We are now in the area of the Parliament building. The secretary general of the Awami League is supposed to hand over the entire committee to us. After that, the committee will be handed over to the media from the Awami League head office.
However, a source from the Awami League said that although the entire committee of the metropolitan north of Dhaka was approved, there are still some complications with the southern committee. As a result, the committee’s announcement may be delayed for another day.
The Dhaka Metropolitan North and South Awami League conference was held about a year ago. The president and general secretary of both branches were chosen through the conference. But years later, the full committee was not announced.
