Brigadier General Mohammad Saidul Islam, director general of the National Identity Registration Division, said citizens must register on the voter list on the basis of various documents, including birth certificates and certificates of people’s representatives. If the certificates from these institutions are correct, it is possible to prevent national identity card fraud.

He said there are plans to hold meetings with these organizations to stop NID fraud.

He said so at a press conference in his office in the electoral building on Tuesday.

Brigadier General Mohammad Saidul Islam said that places where fraud is taking place should also be stopped before the arrival of the national identity card. If we cannot get to the root, then it is very difficult to stop this fraud. You can understand who the root is.

He said, the first question is who is giving the birth registration? Who issues the certificate of citizenship? If I get the correct birth record, if I get the proper citizenship, if I get the proper educational qualification, if I get the correct certificate of inheritance, what is the way without voting? It is very difficult for the Election Commission and the NID wing alone to prevent such corruption.

Last year 2 lakh 8,835 people tried to become dual voters, the CEO said, ‘It is a servant of 11 million people. However, the last time we did the update, we discovered 2 lakh 8,835 people who tried to get listed as dual voters. So that’s not what we can’t do. But it takes time and resources to make something mature.

He said that a case is being brought against those involved in the falsification of national identity cards, said that since 2013, 39 officials and employees have been fired. As we’ve discussed, many are creating a post-layoff cycle. Throughout the cycle, they are trying to commit irregularities, corruption or corruption. That is why I have decided to bring a case against them. Meanwhile, two data entry operators from Aditmari Upazila and Sadar Upazila from Lalmonirhat have been arrested in one case.
