Five people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours in the country. So far 8,253 people have died.

At the same time, a total of 14,326 samples were analyzed using antigen and RT-PCR to identify another 404 corona-infected people. The detection rate considering the test is 2.62 percent. With this, the number of identified patients increased to five lakh 39,975 people.

This information has been disclosed in the press release delivered by the health department on Friday afternoon.

Of the five people killed in the last 24 hours, four were men and one was a woman, according to the statement. In the age-based analysis, two of them are in the 51-60 age group and three are in their sixties. Another 422 people recovered within 24 hours. So far four lakh 8,393 people have recovered. In total, 36 lakh 22,345 samples have been tested so far.

In addition, it was reported in the notification that considering the total number of examinations in the country, the detection rate is 14.13 percent. The overall recovery rate is 90.08 percent and the mortality rate is 1.53 percent.

According to the government’s Institute of Pathology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), the first case of coronavirus was identified in the country on March 8. On March 17, the first death was reported.
