Demonstrations and vandalism during the counting of votes

The protests erupted at a time when tensions were rising in states known as electoral battlegrounds.

In Portland, Oregon, the National Guard became active when protests against Trump turned violent to demand a counting of all votes.

Witnesses say some people broke away from the protest and broke the windows of some shops in the city center. The police called it a “riot.”

Two hundred protesters took to the streets of the miniapolis and several people were arrested. The US media say the protesters were protesting Donald Trump and his call to stop voting.

Similar demonstrations have been held in New York, Philadelphia and Chicago.

In Detroit, Trump supporters gathered outside the counting center chanting “Stop Counting.” At that moment the windows were smashed. There have been similar small demonstrations in Phoenix, Arizona. Source: BBC Bangla
