Dhaka: Ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja, the leaders of Sanatan Dharmabalambi Oikya Parishad have demanded the arrest of Sharanankar Ther, a Buddhist monk who occupies a former Sanatan community crematorium in the village of Falaharia in Chittagong’s Rangunia upazila.

The demand came from a human chain and a protest rally that was held in front of the National Press Club on Sunday (October 11) at 11 a.m.

The leaders said that the hypocritical, deceptive and lying refugee Ther occupied the old traditional community crematorium in the village of Falaharia in Rangunia and did not allow anyone to be buried there. Using Buddhism as a shield, he has occupied a hundred acres of forest land. The forest department has uprooted thousands of trees on behalf of the building’s facilities. After exposing these misdeeds, he was expelled from the area and is now playing a new game of destroying the centuries-old communal harmony of Rangunia.

He constantly spreads provocative video messages and speeches through social media slandering other religions and prominent people. All Rangunia is now striking. Durga Puja in front. Rangunia, a city of peace, could be in crisis at any moment. Bloody clashes can occur. Therefore, the followers of traditional religions have demanded the arrest of Sharanankar Ther before the next Durga Puja to avoid a major accident.

Muktijoddha Manoranjan Ghoshal of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra was the main guest at the function presided over by Rupam Chakraborty, priest of the Rangunia Kadamtali temple.

Syedbari temple priest Sujan Chakraborty, actress Aruna Biswas, former student leader Tarit Kanti Dey, leader of the Janmashtami celebration of the northern Chittagong district Parishad Pankaj Chowdhury, Nirmal Das, Supayan Chowdhury, Shaibal Chakraborty, Lipi Chowdhury others spoke at the rally.

At the beginning of the speech, Manoranjan Ghoshal complained that the ascetic monk occupied the crematorium and did not allow the body to be buried and cremated there.

He demanded that the government take strict measures against the ascetic monks. Otherwise, the freedom fighters will take action against Sharanankar, he said.

Freedom fighter Manoranjan Ghoshal said: “Just as freedom fighters found a single forest in the Pakistani army, we freedom fighters will find a refugee monk.” His poisonous teeth must be broken.
