The director of the National Human Rights Commission (Complaints-Investigation), Al-Ahmad Faizul Kabir, said that he spoke with the victim.

He told reporters in the auditorium of the Noakhali Judicial Magistrates Court around 2 p.m. Tuesday. Also present were Gazi Sala Uddin, Deputy Director for National Human Rights, and Kamrun Nahar, Deputy Director of the Noakhali District Department of Women and Children’s Affairs. Members of the investigative committee of the Human Rights Commission at the Begumganj Police Station spoke with the victim at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

The housewife complained to them: “Last year Delwar entered his house and took him hostage at gunpoint. At that point, Delwar asked her to have sex with him. When he tried to scream, Delwar threatened to kill him and gang rape his men.

“A few days later, Delwar sent his accomplice Kalam to the woman’s home and took her on a ticket on a boat, where both Delwar and Kalam raped her.”

“According to the victim’s statement, today we will present a case through a panel of lawyers,” said the member of the Human Rights Commission.

He said there were two cases in this incident. Six of the nine accused have been arrested. If someone else’s name appears in the investigation and evidence, it will also be subject to the law.
