A woman has given birth to a child in two months and 10 days of marriage in the Vemrullah village of the Chuadanga municipality. The incident has caused commotion in the area. According to the locals, the woman married Mostakim from the old mosque in Bhimrullah village of Chuadanga municipal area two months and 10 days ago in Mathpara of Koyradanga village of Alamdanga upazila. They were married through a Ghatak village of Alokdia in Sadar upazila. After the marriage, they did not realize that the woman was pregnant. On Saturday night (January 2), the woman gave birth to a son.
Mostakim said: ‘After the marriage, my wife would have avoided the matter in various ways. Then it was not possible for me to understand. The woman was divorced by her husband Mostakim on Sunday afternoon.
The woman said: ‘One day Ashik (20), a neighbor of Mathpara in Koyradanga village, asked me to come to his house to show him something. When I went there, Aashiq raped me and threatened me in various ways so as not to tell anyone about the incident. He did not tell anyone about the matter for fear of public embarrassment. He forcibly divorced me Sunday afternoon with a signature. Although she was divorced, she still has not paid the dowry. I want recognition from my son. ‘
In this regard, Jahangir Khokon, Councilor for District No. 1 of Chuadanga Township said: ‘They got married through a Ghatak village of Alokdia. The girl and her family members have been avoiding the issue since the marriage. She gave birth to a son at her father-in-law’s house on Saturday night. The matter was later resolved between the two parties. I heard that the divorce took place in the hospital area with the consent of both parties.
Chuadanga Police Superintendent Jahidul Islam said: “Legal action will be taken if any complaints are received.”
