The Bangladesh Puja Celebration Council has decided to keep the Durga Puja temple / mandapa closed to the public after dark or night to prevent the spread of the wreath. As a result, Hindus must refrain from visiting the puja mandapa or performing aarti after the night.

The Bangladesh Puja Celebration Council said in a statement on Wednesday (October 21).

In a statement, Milon Kanti Dutt, president of the Puja Celebration Council, and Nirmal Kumar Chatterjee, secretary general, said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had instructed in a cabinet meeting on October 19 that no one should go out without a mask. He also ordered that a mobile court could be established if necessary. The prime minister’s directive has again warned people about the second wave of coronavirus infection. Doctors in the country also repeatedly warn people about this in different media.

They further said, “In the current situation, you have to decide whether you will risk your life by participating in physical worship and surrendering yourself and your family members to Corona or refrain from participating in this puja this time.” We must all remember that Durga Puja is a five-day event. Everyone’s participation increases the chances of coronary expansion. Avoid taking responsibility for it. Keep the temple / mandapa closed to the public after dark. The mother is omnipresent. Your mother will surely accept your prostration from home. You will not be deprived of your blessings. ‘

The council holding the puja also asked the leaders of all the committees to convey their message to the villages as soon as possible.

In this regard, a member of the policy-making level of the Bangladesh Puja Celebration Council told Jago News, on condition of anonymity: “The puja mandapa will be closed for the night. Seeing the puja happen, walking, you really want to stop. I can’t say it well, I have to understand what he said. ‘

Meanwhile, the Mahanagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee held an exchange meeting with journalists in the auditorium of the Sri Sri Dhakeswari National Temple on Wednesday (October 21) at 11 am. Shailendranath Majumder, president of the organization and Kishore Ranjan Mandal, general secretary of the organization, said that this time there will be 232 Durga Pujas in Dhaka. Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad decided to keep the puja mandapa open until 9pm. In view of the general situation, it was decided that the puja mandapa would close after dark.

From each mandapa they have been asked to go directly to their respective immersion ghats. The monitoring cell has been created by the Mahanagar Sarvajanin Puja Committee, which will monitor the situation around the clock.

According to the Bangladesh Puja Celebration Council, this time 30,213 pujas will be held across the country despite the Corona epidemic. Last year, there were 31,396 Durga Puja mandapas. This year 1,175 Durga Pujas will be less than last year.

They also said that although the patriarchy began on September 16 in Shubh Mahalaya, the Durga Puja will not take place on the side of the goddess, as this year’s Ashwin month is the ‘Evil month’. As a result, after about one month and five days, the Durga Puja formality will begin this time with the sixth puja in the Autumn Karti (Thursday, October 22). Durga Puja will end on October 23, October 24, October 8, October 25, October 9 and October 26 (Monday) with the idol immersion.
