The government is the ambassador of Bangladesh to Ethiopia and the permanent representative to the African Union. He has decided to appoint Monirul Islam as the next Bangladesh ambassador to Egypt. The chancery said on Sunday.
Ambassador Md. Monirul Islam is a professional diplomat from the tenth batch of BCS foreign cadres. In his colorful diplomatic life, he served on various missions in Singapore, Port Seri Begawan, Madrid, Beijing, Ottawa, and Brasilia. He was the Consul General of Bangladesh in New York and the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Morocco. He has also served in various departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Md. Monirul Islam holds a Bachelor’s (Honors) and Master of Economics from Dhaka University. He has a master’s degree in foreign affairs and business from Monash University in Australia. As a professional diplomat, he has participated in international trainings and conferences in Canberra, New Delhi, Hawaii and Beijing as a member of the Bangladesh delegation.
Ambassador Md. Monirul Islam is married in private life.
