Currently, it is also discussed how much GDP is an economic indicator and how much political. Economists have long argued that GDP is not the only measure of growth. The concept of development is broader. But the most beloved indicator of politicians is this GDP, if it continues to grow.

Wahiduddin Mahmud introduced some new aspects of this development concept on July 3. The text is as follows:

Some exceptional indicators of economic development

The level of economic development of different countries (regardless of the type of governance under which it is governed) is generally measured in terms of per capita national income or GDP. However, there are many problems in measuring and comparing national income. Much research is being done to get a rough idea of the level of development using a few other simple indicators. I am thinking of some exceptional socio-economic indicators that are easily overlooked in my own ongoing research; I am thinking of looking at some things that are easily visible, not a picture of the general development in indicator selection. Furthermore, since urbanization is inevitable in economic development, more attention has been paid to city-centered indicators:

1. The aesthetic beauty of riverside walks in capitals or large cities.

2. How much priority is given to the comfort of pedestrians, as well as the movement of buses or cars on city streets.

3. The level of obeying traffic laws and honking on the road.

4. The quality and discipline of the public transportation system (for example, whether there is a possibility for buses and other public transportation to carry passengers everywhere except designated locations).

5. Visual image of the quality and waste management of public toilets in cities.

. The level of compliance of citizens with the health label (such as spitting) in public.

. The level of adulteration in food and the quality of tap water in urban areas and the availability of potable water in rural areas.

. Exterior appearance and health system of rural houses.

9. Mortality rate regarding passenger transport per year in traffic accidents.

10. The level of desire of educated citizens to move abroad permanently.

Giving direction to development policies is not the main objective of these indicators, but they can be considered as some visible signs of determining the level of development. Every year, various international organizations publish various indicators on various aspects of development, such as good governance, the business environment, human development, human rights, etc .; In addition, there is an account for GDP per capita or national income. There is also much debate about the data, measurement methods, and the comparative utility of these indicators.

However, if a person from an underdeveloped country goes to a developed country, he does not have to look at books to understand how that country is classified according to the World Bank’s per capita income or how much it ranks on the UN Human Development Index. This article seeks to identify the visible signs that can give an immediate idea of the level of development of the country. Of course, there are signs of some public awareness and policy making.

Given that we have officially set ourselves the goal of becoming an upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a developed country by 2041, we need to think not only about GDP growth, but also about these different development indicators.
