Syed Mahbub-e-Khoda Dewanbagi, founder and owner of Dewanbagh Durbar Sharif in the capital Motijheel, passed away. He died at 6:48 a.m. on Monday (December 26). He was 80 years old at the time of his death.
Monday morning, said Dewanbagh computer section official Darbar Sharif. Al-Amin has confirmed the matter.
According to judicial sources in Dewanbagh, he suffered a stroke at his home in the early hours of the morning. He was later taken to United Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. The body has been taken to Arambagh. The time of janaza has not yet been set.
He was born on December 14, 1949 in the Bahadurpur village of Ashuganj upazila in Brahmanbaria. His father’s name was Syed Abdur Rashid Sardar. Mother Syeda Jobeda Khatun. He is the youngest of six brothers and two sisters. He studied from Karimia Alia Madrasa in Talshahar to Fazil.
Dewanbagi Pir received the bayat from Abul Fazal Sultan Ahmed Chandrapuri, the founder of Chandrapara Darbar in Faridpur. Dewanbagi later married his daughter Hamida Begum. Because of this, he obtained the caliphate from his father-in-law. A few days later, he built a dormitory at Dewanbagh in Narayanganj and introduced himself as a Sufi emperor. Dewanbagi recently established a court at 147 Arambagh, Motijheel, Dhaka-1000.
