The Bangladesh Qaumi Madrasa Teachers Association has demanded a judicial investigation into the death of Ahmed Shafi, Emir of Hefazat-e-Islam and Director General of Darul Uloom Hathazari Madrasa, calling it “unusual”. The group’s leaders also claimed that the protests in Hathazari Madrasa a week ago were sparked by outsiders.
The academics made these demands at a discussion and prayer meeting titled ‘Life and Work of Allama Ahmad Shafi’ at the National Press Club on Friday (September 25) afternoon.
Hefazat-e-Islam Naib Amir and Jamiat Ulama Islam, President Mufti. Waqqas said: “I want to make it clear that the death of Hazrat Maulana Ahmad Shafi Sahib (Rah.) Was not normal. I do not have any doubt. A force has created chaos in Hathazari Madrasa, which has resulted in the brutal death of Mr. Ahmad Shafi. I would call it ‘abnormal’ death, not normal death. “
Demanding a judicial investigation into the whole matter, Mufti Waqqas said: “If a trial is not held, chaos will spread across the Qaumi arena. Such a cruel death from Allama Shafi cannot be accepted. For this, I demand a judicial investigation of the Prime Minister.
The manifesto was read in the form of an eight-point proposal calling for a “judicial investigation” into the events of the last two days of Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi’s life and the student protests in Hathazari Madrasa.
