The RAB arrested two people, including the owner of an agency that sent Kulsum, 14, to Saudi Arabia for 26 years. The detainees are Malik Maqbool Hossain and his accomplice Tareq. They were arrested in a raid on the office of the MH Trade International recruiting agency in Fakirapule in the capital on Thursday afternoon. Furthermore, the institution was sealed.
RAB Executive Magistrate Palash Kumar Bose led the operation. He said that Umm Kulsum’s body arrived in Bangladesh from Saudi Arabia on September 11. He went to Saudi Arabia in April 2019 through MH Trade International. Although the minimum age to go to work in Saudi Arabia is 25, Kulsum was under 15 years old. But at the persuasion of Maqbool Hossain, a local broker and owner of MH Trade International, Kulsum’s passport was made showing his age as 26 years old. The owner of MH Trade International smuggled Kulsum into Saudi Arabia without warning her, despite fears that she would be physically and mentally abused and exploited in Saudi Arabia. Kulsum died on August 18 after being tortured and hospitalized there.
By the way, Umme Kulsum (14) from Brahmanbaria died in a Saudi Arabian hospital on August 9 after being brutally tortured.
