Death in the middle of the sky on the way back to the field

Dhaka: Borhan Mia, 56, was returning to Dhaka on a Jazira Airways flight from Kuwait at noon. This expat died of a sudden stroke on that flight.

Communication with his family was interrupted because he did not have a mobile phone number despite having a passport. According to the passport, Borhan Miah’s home is in Nawabganj, Dhaka.

Airport officials said the flight landed in Dhaka at 1.30pm. After that, as the body’s family could not be found, the expatriate welfare office turned to BRAC for help. Then the BRAC Nawabganj upazila field organizer in Dhaka sought out the family locally. Then the family arrived at the airport.

He was later taken to Kurmitola Hospital for a death certificate under the supervision of the Airport Police. The body will be delivered to the family at the end of the hospital work.

According to the family, Borhan Mia went to Kuwait 5 years ago. He was returning to the country through the border crossing because there it became illegal. However, Corona did not affect him. It is believed that he suffered a heart attack inside the plane.
