Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ordered the DC conference to be postponed. The next DC conference was scheduled for January 5, 6 and 7, 2020. Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam confirmed the information to Kaler Kantha on Tuesday evening. He said the DC conference has been postponed due to unavoidable reasons.

Speaking with several developing countries, they welcomed the government’s decision. Many cabinet officials have also expressed their satisfaction. The postponed DC conference will be announced later. The decision was verbally communicated to all DCs from the Cabinet Division yesterday. A letter will be delivered on Wednesday.

Several officials from the Prime Minister’s Office and the Cabinet Department told Kaler Kanth, on condition of anonymity, that various initiatives are being taken around the world regarding Corona’s second website. In this situation, the theme of holding a conference with developing countries seems striking. Other than that, as it was decided not to hold this year’s DC conference at the beginning, the work in this regard did not go well. Later, due to the sudden decision of the DC conference, the affected people were subjected to enormous work pressure. So it was not possible to fix many things.

The annual conference of deputy commissioners has become a tradition. Due to Corona, the conference was not held on time this year. The plan was scheduled for December.

But Corona decided not to hold the conference in December for fear of a second website. Subsequently, a conference was organized in January with the interest of the cabinet and some officials from the Prime Minister’s Office. With the consent of the Prime Minister, the preparations for the conference were almost complete and it was postponed again.

DCs from 64 leading field administration districts, 60 secretaries, 6 commissioners and division ministers, ministers of state and vice ministers from all ministries participate in the DC conference. Developing countries have the opportunity to have special meetings and sessions with the president and prime minister. The three to five day conference was held at the Secretariat. The DC Conference is held in July of each year. This time it was not held in July due to Corona.

At the DC conference, central policy makers make proposals, discussions, and decisions on various issues with the field administration. During this time, DCs from all districts held continuous meetings from morning to night in the secretary’s cabinet room. The ministers and secretaries of 56 ministries and departments are present at these meetings in phases. The decision is made on the basis of discussions between the ministries and departments involved and the DCs about what kind of problems or benefits exist in existing activities and what else can be done if necessary.

Concerns say the nature of the coronavirus is not yet clear. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving office. Many countries in the world are in a bad situation on the second web. During the Second Web, there should not be a conference at the policy level where all the important officials of the field administration have to be present, starting with the head of state.

According to a search in the Cabinet Division, about 300 proposals sent to developing countries across the country on the occasion of the conference were finalized for the conference. The three-day conference also finalizes the number of sessions and who will attend. Preparations were under way to send invitations to all departments of the Cabinet Division. At that time the DC conference was postponed.

The Prime Minister inaugurates the DC Conference in the Prime Minister’s Office each year. On the last day of the conference, developing countries attended a dinner at the invitation of the president. Since the last conference, DCs also had a courtesy meeting with the President of the National Assembly and the Chief Justice of the country.
